Since ancient times, people’s livelihoods have evolved uniquely in harmony with their local landscapes. In Sabae, Fukui̶nestled in a basin surrounded by the Nyu Mountains and the Hakusan Range̶ this relationship between land and life gave rise to a unique industry. With harsh, snow-laden winters limiting agriculture, the craft of eyewear manufacturing took root and flourished. Over generations, local artisans refined their skills and sensibilities to a level that now captivates people around the world.

At YELLOWS PLUS, we have continued to craft durable, precision eyewear here in Sabae. Now, in our 23rd year, a series of meaningful encounters has led us to open a flagship store in Kanazawa, a city also connected to the Hakusan mountains and the broader Hokuriku region̶a place that shares in this quiet spirit of craftsmanship.

We’ve named the store COLLECT by YELLOWS PLUS.

“COLLECT” speaks to gathering, curating, and presenting. It is a space where what we have long created comes together, while what one takes home is left to the feeling of that particular day. Through carefully selected products, we hope to offer a space where visitors can experience the es- sence of YELLOWS PLUS.

The process of making eyewear itself is an act of “collecting.” Numerous parts are made by different artisans in a chain of meticulous, collaborative work. Bit by bit, each piece comes together, forming a whole.

We have always walked alongside the craftspeople of Sabae. And we remain committed to continuing this honest craft in the land we call home. Our choice to open this store in Kanazawa is a reflection of our desire to deepen our roots in Hokuriku, to explore new encounters, and to grow with the times̶ All of which led to the birth of COLLECT by YELLOWS PLUS.
